1. Medical accuracy and standards
Every article and advice published in Healthy Lanka is written and edited by qualified medical professionals. The latest international clinical evidence and research papers are utilized in the compilation of clinical guidelines and medical advice.
In particular, we use the correct clinical vocabulary in all our content (for example clinical inflammation is correctly translated as 'inflammation' rather than simply 'inflammation'), and make every effort to present it in plain Sinhala that the general reader can understand.
2. Medical review process
Each article undergoes rigorous professional review by the Medical Review Board before publication. Here the accuracy and sufficiency of the information and statistics are verified. The article is released to the reader only after the doctors including our Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Priya Awami (MBBS, PG Dip. FM) confirm the accuracy of the article.
3. Sources and evidence
We strictly follow Evidence-based Medicine. Our sources of information include official publications from the World Health Organization (WHO), PubMed, CDC, and professional medical associations. All research data and clinical facts mentioned in the article are provided with direct medical reference links (References).
4. Independence and Impartiality
The purpose of the Healthy Lanka website is to improve the health literacy of the Sri Lankan reader. We do not receive sponsorship for content from any pharmaceutical company or medical product, and our editorial decisions are not subject to any commercial influence.
